This beautiful shrine dedicated to Lord Subramanya is in the southern district of Tirunelveli in Tamil Nadu. Its a shore temple on the East Coast situated off the Gulf of Mannar.
The temple is revered as one of the Arupadai Veedu or six abodes of Lord Subramanya or Muruga (Padai Veedu denotes a place where warriors camp during a battle; Aru in Tamil means six). In North India, Sri Subramanya is better known as Kartik.
